AAA Editor Notes
Nugget Casino Resort is at 1100 Nugget Ave.; take I-80 exit 17 (Nugget Ave.) eastbound, exit 18 (Pyramid Way) westbound. The Nugget creates a little bit of Vegas-style excitement in Sparks. The casino's state-of-the-art wagering area will please anyone here to seriously gamble. For those who aren't tempting Lady Luck there are plenty of seating areas with couches, tables and lamps, just far enough off the main casino floor and away from the hubbub to be comfy.
Low-roller dice enthusiasts will embrace the popular craps tables that are available 24/7. There's also a wall of nickel slot machines. The casino level (first floor) features an old school-style sports book and a bingo parlor. Among the dining options are Tailgate Deli and Sports Bar and the Nugget Oyster Bar; the latter features 1950s décor. Partake in bull riding or line dancing at Gilley's Saloon, Dane Hall & Bar-B-Que. There are video games and other kid-oriented amusements in the huge Skywalk Arcade, located on the second floor next to the parking garage.
The Nugget also has an offbeat exhibit you can check out between sessions in front of the progressive jackpot slots. At the hotel's northeast entrance there's an impressive collection of branding irons from all over Nevada.
