AAA Editor Notes
University of New Brunswick is on a steep hill overlooking the city and the Saint John River. Founded in 1785, the university's historic red-brick Georgian buildings include the 1829 Sir Howard Douglas Hall and the 1851 Brydone Jack Observatory. The Harriet Irving Library contains rare manuscripts and books, including first editions by Charles Dickens, George Eliot and H.G. Wells. Photographs, films and local documents are displayed in the Provincial Archives.
