AAA Editor Notes

Hopewell Rocks Ocean Tidal Exploration Site is on the Bay of Fundy near the mouth of the Petitcodiac River via Hwy. 114/131 (Discovery Rd.). Over time ocean tides have carved the Flower Pot Rocks, pillars of sandstone and conglomerate rock; balsam fir and dwarf spruce grow from the top of these formations. Visitors can explore the ocean floor below the rocks from 3 hours before low tide until 3 hours after low tide. At high tide, the rocks resemble islands. An interpretive center includes multimedia exhibits about the Bay of Fundy; walking trails with viewing decks can be accessed from the center. To reach the lower level visitors can follow gravel pathways or take a shuttle.
$10; $8 (ages 65+ and students ages 19+ with ID); $7.25 (ages 5-18); $25.50 (family, two adults and two children). Shuttle $2 each way.
