AAA Editor Notes
MacDonald Farm Heritage Site is 13 km (8 mi.) n.e. on Hwy. 11, on the n. side of the Miramichi River at Bartibog Bridge. This 1815 farmhouse overlooking Miramichi Bay was built by Alexander MacDonald, a Scottish immigrant. Although typical of Georgian stone houses in rural Scotland, it's unusual architecture for New Brunswick. Various outbuildings depict ways in which the MacDonald family earned a living. Costumed guides provide background information about the restored house and working farm. There are also nature trails on site.
