Metepenagiag Heritage Park

Metepenagiag Heritage Park, 2156 MicMac Rd., traces the 3,000-year-old history of the aboriginal Mi'kmaq culture. Multimedia exhibits in French, English and the native language provide details about history, hunting and fishing techniques, dwellings and modes of travel. Displays include ceramic pottery and archeological finds, and visitors can watch a 20-minute video about the Mi'kmaq culture and the Oxbow and Miramichi rivers. There are interpretive walking trails along the Oxbow River.
