Massabesic Audubon Center, 26 Audubon Way, is a wildlife sanctuary that includes Lake Massabesic and more than 5 miles of trails on which visitors may spot loons and ospreys in spring and bald eagles in winter. Grassland birds and other creatures also live within the sanctuary. The center offers exhibits about the local environment and its inhabitants as well as live animal exhibits. Educational programs and events are held throughout the year.
Note: Wearing long sleeves or using bug repellent are good ideas when hiking the trails. Snowshoe rentals are available.
