Robert Frost Farm, 1.5 mi. s of jct. SR 102 at 122 Rockingham Rd., is where renowned poet Robert Frost lived 1900-11. The farm was the source of inspiration for many of his published works. Restored to its turn-of-the-20th-century condition, the house contains period furniture. Displays in the barn pertain to Frost and his writings. Videos feature readings of his works and describe the restoration of the farm. A .5-mile poetry nature trail winds around the farm. Summer is busy with a literary series in July and August and the Hyla Brook Reading Series, a collection of readings and writing workshops, from June to September. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
Grounds free. Farm $5; $4 (New Hampshire residents); $3 (ages 6-17); free (New Hampshire residents ages 6-17 and senior citizens). Phone to confirm.
Hours: Grounds open daily year-round. Farm open daily 10-5, July 4-Labor Day; Wed.-Sun. 10-5, mid-May through July 3 and day after Labor Day-Columbus Day. Last guided tour departs 1 hour before closing.
