Pros: Wonderful character hotel in a great location and fantastic views over Lake Squam
family with young children
Pros: Very polite staff and so friendly!!! I liked that everyone was accommodating to our every need.
Cons: Having to leave!
Pros: The whole inn was amazing. The dinner Saturday night was absolutely superb. I had duck breast, my daughter had scallops. We swam in the pool. I drank gin and and she drank tonic in the Adirondick chairs on the front lawn facing the lake and mountains. We added pieces to the puzzle, had two hyper-competitive games of Chinese Checkers and laughed our way around the croquet course. One night we curled up in bed and watched the 1980 movie On Golden Pond with K Hepburn and H Fonda. We walked thru a conservation area and had an amazing swim in Squam Lake. We toured the lake on a boat and walked through the Natural Science Center. We will cherish theses memories forever as my only child expects her first child in 3 months.
Cons: The old wooden architecture of the estate needed some paint.
Cons: The weather
Pros: The location was very nice. The room was very comfortable and the wood fireplace and Jacuzzi were just great. Sitting in the Jacuzzi looking out at the lake was beautiful.
Cons: The mattress on the bed felt old and worn. Not great on my back. The restaurant was closed one night due to lack of reservations. That was quite inconvenient.
Pros: The room was beautiful and comfortable. The bath was luxurious. .and the filet was the best I have had in either my life of a very long time..
Pros: The Manor was a great place. The staff were friendly and very helpful when we had questions. The room was cleaned and exactly as described on their website. The property it self was beautiful. We would love to visit again during the summer when the pool and tennis court are open.
Cons: The only thing that bothered us was the fact that our heater was not working during our stay. It was below zero during the weekend we went and the whole time the heater was barely working. It was warm but not enough with temperatures at below zero. Luckily our room had a fireplace which helped us keep warm and the staff provided us with an extra blanket.
Pros: Quiet setting.
Cons: Early closing of amenities.
family with young children
Pros: The location and facilities were fantastic. The staff was friendly and courteous. A very relaxing atmosphere. The dinner and drinks were top rate.
Cons: The linens on the pull out needed replacement as it appeared something had spilled on them.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Cons: The manor is situated next to a very busy road and is very exposed to noise.
The deception is very old english and would benefit from a freshening-up.
Wifi not working properly in the room.
Pros: Wonderful room, upgraded by the manor to one worth a big jacuzzi.
Cons: No complaints at all. Uniformly lovely experience throughout our stay.
Pros: nice o so "old English style"
Cons: it has a fireplace that we did not use, but somebody before us did and the smell was still pretty strong there.
Pros: We loved the attention to detail throughout the inn with its beautiful and well maintained historic interior design and decor. The staff was very friendly and accommodating even though we were the only guests at the inn during off season ion a weekday in early November. We loved our corner room named Windsor. It offered a lot of natural light, a comfortable bed, with a sitting area and nice bathroom. Having a fire in the fireplace in our room at night was wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast in the dining room in front of the fireplace was delightful. We also enjoyed tea & sandwiches with cookies in the library in the late afternoon. We enjoyed hot apple cider in the living room upon arrival.
