Polar Caves Park is 5 mi. w. on SR 25 (Tenney Mountain Hwy.). The caves were formed by glacial action more than 20,000 years ago. Paths lead through a series of nine caves and passages featuring granite boulders as well as mineral formations of quartz, mica, garnet and beryl. The park is home to pheasants, ducks and European fallow deer. Nature trails offer educational plaques about native plants and natural history; there also is a mining sluice.
