Granite State Whale Watch, 1870 Ocean Blvd. (SR 1A), offers whale-watching expeditions and sightseeing cruises from Rye Harbor. Whale-watching tours are conducted by research biologists, with humpback, finback and minke whales being the most common species in these waters. A fireworks cruise is offered on July 4; phone for details. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 4 hours minimum.
Whale-watching trip $36; $28 (ages 60+); $23 (ages 4-17). Fares may vary; phone ahead. Reservations are recommended.
Hours: Whale-watching trips depart daily at 8:30 and 2, mid-June to late Aug.; Mon.-Fri. at 11, Sat.-Sun. at 8:30 and 2, day after Labor Day to mid-Sept.; daily at 11, late Aug.-Labor Day; daily at 2, early to mid-June; Wed. and Fri. at 10, Sat.-Sun. at 11, mid-Sept. through Columbus Day; Sat.-Sun. at 11, mid-May to early June (weather permitting).
