AAA Editor Notes
The Civil Rights Garden at Carnegie Library is at S. Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. at Pacific Ave. A symbolic tribute to the individuals and events leading up to and during the Civil Rights Movement, it features 11 black granite columns inscribed with passages from contributors to the struggle for equality. The columns increase in height but are unfinished, signifying that full equality has not been reached. The landscaped area also includes a bronze bell and reflecting pool.
