Emlen Physick Estate is at 1048 Washington St. at Lafayette St. This 18-room, 1879 Victorian house was designed by notable Philadelphia architect Frank Furness. Emlen Physick Jr., a gentleman farmer, was the grandson of Dr. Philip Syng Physick, a surgeon who invented procedures and instruments that are still used. Tours through restored rooms provide insight into the lifestyles of two distinct Victorian classes: the wealthy and the servants. A combination ticket with the Cape May Trolley also is available.
