Red Mill Museum Village is at 56 Main St. Built around 1810, the mill was used for grist milling, plaster and talc grinding and graphite processing. Displays from a 40,000-item collection depict early 19th-century life, methods of agriculture and local industries. Other buildings on the 10-acre site include a working blacksmith shop, a quarry office, a general store, a log cabin and a one-room schoolhouse. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Admission Sat.-Sun., Apr.-Sept. $10; $8 (ages 65+ and military with ID); $6 (ages 6-12); $5 all other times. Admission varies during special events.
Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-5, Apr.-Sept. and Nov.-Dec.; Sat.-Sun. noon-4, Jan.-Mar. Phone ahead for Haunted Mill hours in Oct. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and Dec. 31.
