This large retro eatery evokes a classic suburban mood that is pure Baby Boomer heaven. Oh, and the food is pretty fine, too.
AAA Inspector Notes
As the name implies, this is not your typical roadside greasy spoon. The menu is wide but shows sophistication without straying too far from familiar diner favorites. The breakfast is extensive, with a focus on sandwiches and entrées at lunch and dinner. There are also desserts, pastries and good, fresh-baked bread. The retro-cool 1960s architecture and decor really adds to the experience and has made this a local landmark. There is a happy hour in the spacious back lounge on weekdays. As Central Jerseyites tend to "live" in their cars, a visit to this large and airy eatery is a chance to leave the highway, relax, and to see and be seen at some place other than the mall or at a large box retailer.
