Gibbon House is at 960 Ye Greate St. Built in 1730 by wealthy merchant Nicholas Gibbon and patterned after a London townhouse, the house is furnished with 18th- and 19th-century items, including locally made rush-seated “Ware” chairs. The 1740 kitchen and its 10-foot working fireplace is still used to prepare special meals.
