When they get tired of all the upmarket city-like posturing of Hoboken, the old time locals in the know will fall back on this old charmer.
AAA Inspector Notes
On Manhattan's East Side historic P.J. Clarke's is the casual hangout for steaks, burgers or ribs served on red-and-white checker tablecloths. But across the Hudson River, in Hoboken, Arthurs is P.J.'s working-class cousin. Antique tile floors, pressed tin ceilings and mirrors aplenty line the walls of this relaxing spot. With so much of Hoboken trying so hard to capture the city vibe, it's refreshing to find a place that captures it without trying. Seasonal outdoor seating is available.
