AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Local hangout): Am I in London, or is it New Jersey? The development of Jersey City brings a Continental cafe culture and this is one of their prime spots.
The urban renewal of Jersey City—like Hoboken a generation earlier—brings with it some good neighborhood eateries. This traditional bistro, near the large international banking offices that now call Jersey City home, has relaxed seasonal patio seating and worldly charm. The familiar menu and cosmopolitan tone might remind those who populate the area of favorite cafés back home in London or Sydney. Moules frites is their specialty, along with charcuterie and salad selections. The varied sauces used in preparing their signature mussels are not common to find in many area restaurants and include Provencale (tomato, herbs, garlic), Madras (curry and coconut milk), Normandy (bacon, mushrooms and cream) and Thai lemongrass.
