AAA Inspector Notes
Inspector Pick (Classification): A little slice of nirvana in the Princeton area, the mood here is one-of-a-kind splendid. Relaxed fine dining, indeed.
This restaurant's cuisine is Italian-rooted yet modern, fresh and sophisticated. The menu features high-quality New Jersey farm fresh and organic produce, grass-fed meats and market fresh seafood—the restaurant has its own two-acre farm just down the road. The wine list celebrates the theme of eat local, drink global, with some wine-cellar worthy, well-selected but comfortably priced fine wines. The top-pick restaurant beautifully blends an Old World exterior with a contemporary interior. With such a focus on fresh and seasonal ingredients, the daily specials are a great choice. Some other popular entrées include grilled Arctic char with Tuscan kale, anchovies, pine nuts and sun-dried tomatoes or grass-fed beef rib-eye with roasted cipollini onions and greens. Salads, a few pastas and a good selection of cured meats and cheeses are also available The wine bar, which deserves equal attention, features a gorgeous glass wine cellar and some delectably fine choices available by the glass, bottle or quartino.
