Wheaton Arts and Cultural Center is off Wade Blvd. at 1100 Village Dr. It focuses on the art of and history behind American glass and glassmaking and traditional southern New Jersey crafts. Artist demonstrations take place throughout the day.
The complex includes the Museum of American Glass; glass, ceramics and woodcarving studios; and a picnic and playground area.
Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
Shopping and strolling free except during outdoor special events. Admission to village facilities and artist studios $10; $9 (ages 62+); $7 (students with ID); free (ages 0-5 and to all Jan.-Mar.).
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 10-5, Apr.-Dec.; Fri.-Sun. 10-5, rest of year. Glassmaking demonstrations are offered at 11, 1:30 and 3:30. Closed Jan. 1, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Phone ahead to confirm schedule.
