New Jersey Brigade Area

New Jersey Brigade Area is 1.5 mi. s. on Leddell Rd. to Old Jockey Hollow Rd. in Bernardsville. Some 900 men belonging to the New Jersey Brigade camped here during the winter of 1779-80. The four regiments of the “Jersey Blues,” the last brigade to arrive, spent Christmas building log huts. Hiking trails and the Cross Estate Gardens are on the grounds.
