This prime location had long been occupied by the classic Princeton eatery Lahiere's. After it shut down, post-modern 21st century dining officially arrived in town when Agricola opened in 2013. Farm-to-table, gluten-free and artisan seasonal menus are served up by an eager team in a carefully assembled interior. Mushroom and ricotta flatbread to share or organic kale salad are popular, as are seared cod, braised short rib with horseradish and diver scallops in squash purée. Various dining rooms with purposely mismatched folksy decor, a communal style table and an open kitchen make for an engaging and eye-pleasing dining experience.
