Artesia Historical Museum and Art Center is at 505 W. Richardson Ave. The historic Moore-Ward House, built at the beginning of the 20th century, contains historical and cultural displays. The museum, devoted to local heritage, displays equipment used in industrial development as well as such Western paraphernalia as saddles, barbed wire and clothing. The art center next to the museum offers traveling exhibits, special events and work by area artists.
