Pros: The beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable. The A/C cranked out ice cold air. There was a fitness room and indoor pool. The breakfast had a large selection of cereals, waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, pastries, and many different drinks. The coffee was tasty and hit the spot. When we arrived, the TV wouldn't change the channel and we had to go downstairs to get help. The GM, Andrew, came right up with us and reset the sensor and voila! It worked. He explained that people think its some type of camera and try to hide it. He stayed and told us of some of the history of Carlsbad. Very polite and informative. The room was fairly soundproof. It was only 15 minutes from the cavern.
Cons: Well................, not much one can do about this, but the wind was constant and very strong outside. Time of year?

Pros: Very comfortable stay a little outside of "downtown". Fairly new property, in very nice shape. Fluffy towels (yay - so many places can't manage that). Nice that they recommend some restaurants to you (not of the chain variety), we tried two of their suggestions and enjoyed them both. Would stay here again!
Cons: Maybe some better pastries at breakfast, the muffins were a little disappointing. And there wasn't much fruit (or it was just being put out a bit at a time to keep anyone from taking it all, maybe). But on the other hand, tasty pancakes/waffles, yogurt (a must), good coffee, some eggs/sausage things for those who want that, and good cereal choices (Raisin Bran, yay).
