Tesuque Pueblo is off US 84/285. Tewa-speaking people founded the present settlement in the late 17th century, although habitation dates to 1200 A.D. The 1915 San Diego Mission, designed in the shape of a crucifix, stands on the main plaza. The Pueblos, who have retained their traditional language and culture, hold Three Kings Day festivities in January, a ceremonial Corn Dance the first Saturday in June and the Feast of San Diego on Nov. 12.
