AAA Inspector Notes
Historic. This 100 year-old gem is a premier destination for beer lovers with an appetite. In the warmer months the outdoor beer garden serves from a summer kitchen, dishing up such central European favorites as beef goulash, pirogies, potato pancakes, grilled kielbasa, schnitzel and smoked pork knee. Czech dumplings and delicious sauerkraut are welcome sidekicks to the meat dishes. All of this carnivorous splendor is best washed down with their selection of European crafted brews. It is easy to forget you are in New York City when you visit. The mood, décor and much of the service staff are genuinely middle European. Oktoberfest brings a seasonal high point with special events and live entertainment on weekends.
