Its off the beaten path here but hits a bullseye. I like this colorful Astoria eatery for its authentic kitchen style: Thai floating market cuisine.
AAA Inspector Notes
Offbeat but authentic, this modest but appealing eatery has both the kitchen skills and service style to satisfy. Evoking the fare served on Thailand's floating boat restaurants, the food is a robust blend of flavors, from spicy noodle soups with beef bones, lemon grass and anise, to rice dishes with garlic, basil and a chili puree. Amiable servers wear a summery uniform of jeans, Keds and banded straw hats. Seasonal patio seating is available, and there is also an Upper East Side location.
