Cayuga Museum & Case Research Lab, 203 Genesee St., has changing and permanent Cayuga County history displays and 19th-century furnishings. The Case Research Laboratory, site of the invention of early sound motion pictures, is on the grounds. An 1850 brick carriage house served as a theater in the 1940s, '50s and '60s, and was renovated and reopened as Theater Mack in 2011. .
