Harriet Tubman National Historical Park, 1.5 mi. s. on SR 34 at 180 South St., includes four buildings, two of which were used by the former slave who delivered dozens of slaves from the South on the Underground Railroad. During the Civil War Tubman rendered invaluable service to the Union Army as a nurse, scout and spy. A guided tour includes the visitor center, museum and the home for the aged built and run in Tubman's honor.

Hours: Grounds open dawn-dusk. Visitor center Tues.-Fri. 10-4, Sat. 10-3, Feb.-Oct. Tours depart Tues.-Fri. at 10, noon, 2 and 3, Sat. at 10, noon and 2, Feb.-Oct.; by appointment rest of year. Closed major holidays. Allow 1 hour minimum.
