MacKenzie-Childs Tours is 1.5 mi. n. on SR 90. The design and production studios are on a 65-acre former dairy farm. A 15-minute video offers a tour of the studios and a behind-the-scenes glimpse of artisans creating decorative clay dinnerware and one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture. A late 19th-century Victorian farmhouse, high on a bluff overlooking Cayuga Lake, has 15 rooms on three floors displaying antiques, rugs and other home furnishings in various interior design settings.
Seasonal gardens grace the grounds, which include a duck pond and a meadow where Scottish Highland cattle graze. The visitor center is the site of frequent artisan demonstrations and also contains the Petit Palais, a quarter-inch scale home decorated with MacKenzie-Childs miniatures.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
