Ausable Chasm

Ausable Chasm is reached via I-87 exit 34 or 35. The steep chasm formed by the Ausable River has perpendicular sandstone walls that rise as high as 200 feet above the river. Waterfalls, rapids and rock formations are highlights. One to five miles of self-guiding trails wind through the chasm. A trolley is available for the return trip. Optional participatory tubing or float tours and an Adventure Trail cable course also are available.

Comfortable shoes are recommended.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
