Wave Hill is off the Henry Hudson Pkwy. at W. 249 St. and Independence Ave. The house was built in 1843; it features a 28-acre garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River. Glyndor Gallery presents changing art exhibitions inspired by nature. Guided walks among the herb, wildflower and aquatic gardens are offered; special events are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$8; $4 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $2 (ages 6-18); free (Tues. and Sat. 9-noon). Parking: $8 per vehicle.
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 9-5:30, mid-Mar. through Oct. 31; Tues.-Sun. 9-4:30, rest of year. Guided walks depart Sat. at 11, Sun. at 2. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
