Wave Hill is off the Henry Hudson Pkwy. at W. 249 St. and Independence Ave. The house was built in 1843; it features a 28-acre garden and cultural center overlooking the Hudson River. Glyndor Gallery presents changing art exhibitions inspired by nature. Guided walks among the herb, wildflower and aquatic gardens are held Sundays at 2; special events are held throughout the year. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$8; $4 (ages 65+ and students with ID); $2 (ages 6-18); free (Tues. and Sat. 9-noon). Parking: $8 per vehicle.
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 9-5:30, mid-Mar. through Oct. 31; Tues.-Sun. 9-4:30, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
