Brooklyn Botanic Garden has entrances at 990 Washington Ave., 150 Eastern Pkwy. and 455 Flatbush Ave. Its 52 acres and 14,000 different kinds of plants from around the world include the Fragrance Garden for the visually impaired; the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden; and a conservatory housing tropical plants and a bonsai museum under glass pavilions. The Discovery Garden features kid-friendly exhibits and activities with a focus on plants and animals in meadow, marsh and woodland habitats, a four-season garden and a fruit and vegetable garden.
In late March and early April the garden celebrates Hanami, the “rite of spring,” when cherry blossoms explode and visitors are enveloped in a canopy of pink.
