Prospect Park, between Prospect Park W. and Prospect Park S.W. and Flatbush and Parkside aves., contains a Quaker graveyard, gardens, woodlands, waterfalls, nature trails, a zoo, a restored vintage carousel, boating facilities, roller skating in summer, ice skating in winter, rental bicycles, hiking and cross-country skiing trails, a tennis center and the Lefferts Historic House, an 18th-century homestead museum with furnishings and relics. Grand Army Plaza has an arch commemorating Civil War heroes and a memorial to John F. Kennedy. Prospect Park Audubon Center at the Boathouse features nature exhibits in a restored 1905 Beaux Arts boathouse. Carousel rides and seasonal pedal boat rentals are available for a fee. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
