Wildlife Conservation Society's New York Aquarium, on the Coney Island Boardwalk at 602 Surf Ave., exhibits marine life in outdoor and indoor exhibits including the outdoor Sea Cliffs, the Conservation Hall, Glover's Reef, an Aquatheater and a 4-D theater. Animals that live here include such marine mammals as sea lions and walruses as well as many exotic marine and freshwater fish. Note: The aquarium continues to rebuild its shark exhibit, Ocean Wonders: Sharks!, and the Sea Cliffs Underwater viewing area after sustaining damage from Hurricane Sandy in 2012. Phone ahead to confirm schedule and construction progress.

Some exhibits are under repair due to the effects of Superstorm Sandy, but there are still things to see and do including Glovers Reef, Conservation Hall, the outdoor spaces of Sea Cliffs, and sea lion shows in their full-remodeled Aquatheater**.
