Albright-Knox Art Gallery, just s. of jct. SR 198 at 1285 Elmwood Ave., is a vibrant museum of contemporary and modern art. The gallery is housed in two interconnected buildings: Its Greek Revivalist Albright building was completed in 1905, while its modernist Knox addition was completed in 1962. The museum features works by national and international artists, including Chuck Close, Tracey Emin, Paul Gauguin, Sol LeWitt, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Andy Warhol and other modern and contemporary masters. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours minimum.
$12; $8 (ages 62+ and students ages 13+ with ID); $5 (ages 6-12); free (ages 0-5, active military with ID and to all on the first Fri. of the month 5-10 p.m.). Parking: $5.
Hours: Tues.-Sun. 10-5 (also first Friday of the month 5-10 p.m.). Closed Jan. 1, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
