The Rockwell Museum is at 111 Cedar St. in downtown's Gaffer District. This branch of the Smithsonian Institution displays art about the American experience&#8212;a fine art collection comprised of Hudson River School landscape paintings, historic firearms, American illustrations and Remington bronzes. The museum's Romanesque revival-style brick building served as Corning's city hall, fire station and jail.</br>Guided tours are available. </br>
$11; $10 (ages 55+ and military with ID); $5.50 (students with ID); free (ages 0-17). A combination ticket with The Corning Museum of Glass is available.
Hours: Daily 9-8; Memorial Day-Labor Day; 9-5, rest of year. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. Allow 1 hour minimum.
