Hudson Highlands Nature Museum is .7 mi. s.w. off SR 218 at 25 Boulevard. The museum is devoted to the natural and cultural history of the Hudson Valley. Changing exhibits are highlighted at the Ogden Gallery in the Wildlife Education Center. Visitors can experience hands-on natural history displays and see live animals, including frogs, turtles, snakes, chipmunks and birds. Hike on trails through wetlands and forest at the Outdoor Discovery Center, a separate area covering 177 acres at 100 Muser Dr., which also offers Grasshoppers Grove, a children's nature play area.

Hours: Wildlife Education Center open Fri.-Sun. noon-4. Meet the Animals programs are given Sat.-Sun. at 1 and 2:30. Wildlife Education Center closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Dec. 24-25 and 31. Outdoor Discovery Center open Sat.-Sun. 10-4, mid-Apr. to mid-Nov. Trails open daily dawn-dusk, mid-Apr. to mid-Nov. Nature programs are scheduled year-round; phone for schedule.
