Queens County Farm Museum is off Grand Central Pkwy. exit 24, then .5 mi. s. on Little Neck Pkwy. in Floral Park. This 47-acre historical farm is said to be the largest remaining plot of agricultural land within the New York City limits. The complex includes a 1772 Dutch farmhouse restored to its original appearance; a wagon shed, two barns and three greenhouses built after 1927; animal pens with cows, goats, pigs and sheep; and productive planting fields.
Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
Grounds free. A fee is charged during special events. Hayrides $3.
Hours: Grounds open daily 10-5. House tours are given Sat.-Sun. 10-4. Hayrides are offered Sat.-Sun., Apr.-Nov. (weather permitting). Closed Jan. 1, Easter, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
