Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park, on SR 27A (Montauk Hwy.), covers 635 acres, more than 140 acres of which are open to the public. Plantings include azaleas, evergreens, hollies, rhododendrons and wildflowers. A 68-room Tudor-style house, the former Cutting residence features lavish woodwork, stained-glass windows, large fireplaces and period furnishings.
Guided tours are available. Food is available. Time: Allow 2 hours, 30 minutes minimum.
