Howe Caverns is off I-88 exit 22, 1.7 mi. e. on SR 7, then 1.5 mi. n. following signs. The 90-minute guided tour begins as elevators descend into the prehistoric caverns, 156 feet underground. Brick walkways follow the subterranean river through chambers with stalactites and stalagmites to the departure point for a boat ride on the underground Lake of Venus. The caverns have a constant temperature of 52 degrees Fahrenheit (12 C).
Above ground, the Adventure Park features a zipline, ropes course, rock wall, air jumper and H2OGO ball water ride. Visitors may also enjoy geode cutting and gemstone mining, available all year.
Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
