AAA Inspector Notes
Restored to its original 1920s grandeur, this property is the second-largest private residence in the country. It has exquisite architectural details and 23 acres of manicured lawn and formal gardens. Each room is individually decorated with rich custom antiques and reproductions. Guests indulge in luxurious Molton Brown bath products and sleep on super-soft, Frette 100% Italian linen bedding made with Egyptian cotton. The extreme opulence is from the era when the "Gold Coast" North Shore of Long Island was a high-flying Gatsby-esque playground. Movie superstars Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. were regulars at parties held on the property one hundred years ago. Their photos adorn the plush library and lounges.
Smoke free premises. 32 units, some two bedrooms and kitchens. 4 stories, interior corridors. Accessibility (Call).
