Cornell Botanic Gardens, 2.5 mi. n. on SRs 79 and 366 at 124 Comstock Knoll Dr., lie along the Cascadilla and Fall Creek gorges. On the 3,400 acres is trails, ponds, streams, woodlands, swamps and a lake. The Brian C. Nevin Welcome Center features interpretive exhibits. The 100-acre F.R. Newman Arboretum features a variety of trees, shrubs and trails. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
Free. Parking: Free (Mon.-Fri. for the first hour and Sat.-Sun.); $1.50 (Mon.-Fri. 8-5 for the second and third hour).
Hours: Grounds daily dawn-dusk. Welcome center Sun.-Thurs. 9-5, Fri.-Sat. 9-6, Apr.-Oct.; Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. noon-4, rest of year. Allow 1 hour minimum.
