Exceptionally flavorful Spanish cuisine with South American flourishes in the heart of Queens. What a find! I love this simple and well-priced place.
AAA Inspector Notes
Located in the heart of Jackson Heights' Restaurant Row, this charming, top-pick restaurant opened in 2009. The menu, prepared by Executive Chef Jose Ignacio Sanchez, who honed his skills preparing elaborate meals for the Spanish Ambassador in New York City, includes exceptionally good tapas, superb grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, robustly satisfying beef short rib soup and paella to die for. A range of good Iberian wine is available. Service is bilingual. Side dishes like the fried sweet plantains and the red beans and rice define simple bliss. Less blissful is the parking on busy 37th Avenue. So take the Flushing subway line to nearby 82nd Street station or grab a cab if coming from LaGuardia Airport hotels.
