Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History, 311 Curtis St., is a national center for art, education and conservation named for the award-winning naturalist and author of the Peterson Field Guide series. Featured are natural history exhibits as well as wildlife art and photography. Trails and gardens are on the 27 wooded acres.

Hours: Tues.-Sat. 10-4, Sun. 1-5. Closed major holidays.
