Power Vista is 4.5 mi. n. of the falls on US 104, or reached from Niagara Scenic Pkwy. N. following signs. The Niagara Power Project's visitor center features interactive exhibits explaining the development of hydroelectricity in the Niagara area. Visitors can explore how engineering works at Build-Your-Own Power Dam, operate a power plant at the Control Room Simulator and then direct power to where it is most needed at the Transmission Table. The Power-Up 4D Theatre explains how hydroelectricity is generated.

A large-scale terrain map provides a geographic overview of the Niagara Project, the source of one-seventh of the state's power. Just steps away, an outdoor observation deck 350 feet above the Niagara River affords views of the gorge and power plant.

Other exhibits highlight solar power, electric vehicles and local history. A mural by Thomas Hart Benton depicts Father Louis Hennepin viewing the falls for the first time.
