Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History, .7 mi. n. on SR 97, is an 18th-century stockade with blockhouses, three log cabins, a gun platform, storehouses, a blacksmith shop, an armory, an animal yard and an herb garden. The fort is patterned after the mid-1700s Cushetunk settlement. Guides in period dress present lectures, demonstrations and slide and video shows about Colonial arts and crafts. Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
$7; $5 (ages 62+); $4 (ages 5-14); $20 (family, two adults and three children).
Hours: Fri.-Sat. and Mon. 10-5, Sun. noon-5, late June-Labor Day. Last tour begins 1 hour before closing.
