Pros: We loved the hotel. Staying just before Christmas was special because the hotel was decorated beautifully. Every member of staff we spoke to was very helpful and polite. Afternoon tea was a bonus after a long walk around the hotel vicinity.

Pros: Staff, location, food, sauna, pool, history tied into this place.
Cons: rooms do need a television set on a bad weather day when you don't want to go for a swim or walk but relax in your room for a bit you do need some form of entertainment.

Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful, and the foot was first-rate. The activities were great--the geology tour, the house tour, the fact that there was live music every evening but also a movie or more quiet pursuits. And the hiking and views--lovely and accessible. Reading in bed in our room with a fire in the fireplace--awesome!
