A 7,500-foot gallery features a timeline wall, interactive exhibits, oral and video histories and a 10-minute movie. The gallery also holds the only known surviving example of the Badge of Military Merit, the inspiration for the Purple Heart, presented by George Washington to members of his troops at this site.
