National Museum of the American Indian, Smithsonian Institution is next to Battery Park in the Alexander Hamilton U.S. Custom House at One Bowling Green. The Beaux-Arts building, designed by celebrated American architect Cass Gilbert, features exterior sculptures by Daniel Chester French, a dramatic rotunda with an oval skylight and murals by Reginald Marsh. The museum features changing exhibitions that highlight the art and cultures of Native peoples from throughout the Western hemisphere. Guided tours are available. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
