The Morgan Library 225 Madison Ave. at 36th St., a palazzo-style building of Renaissance architecture, was the private library of J. Pierpont Morgan. Rare editions and illuminated manuscripts are featured as well as art objects, paintings, sculpture and a glass-enclosed garden court. Changing art and literature exhibits also are presented. Guided tours are available. Food is available.
$18; $12 (ages 13-16, ages 65+ and students with ID); free (ages 0-12 and to all Fri. 7-9 p.m.).
Hours: Tues.-Thurs. 10:30-5, Fri. 10:30-9, Sat. 10-6, Sun. 11-6. Guided tours depart Tues.-Sun. at noon. Closed Jan. 1, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
